A writer first — and everything a writer becomes when the page is not enough: a chef, a designer, a curator of the life around me.
Everything I make begins the same way. I notice what is there, and I give it form.
I have always been a writer. Not only of pages — though there are pages: a memoir I am still living my way through, a song I wrote for the man I love, a letter I wrote for my daughter, a screenplay set in the light of Puerto Vallarta. Writing is simply how I see. It is the habit of paying attention until a thing tells you what it wants to be.
And once you see that clearly, you cannot help but make. A table. A room. A meal. A garment. A life that holds together instead of merely running.
I was raised by two people who could neither read nor write, and who taught me everything that mattered before I was ten — how to listen to a room, how to cook without a recipe, how to tell when a thing is true. My grandmother cooked from memory, aroma, taste, and feel. My grandfather taught me a house by hand, scraping a clapboard down to honest wood.
"Tiene la mano," my Buela said of me. She has the gift. I was eight years old. Everything that carries my name was built from that one inheritance.
"How do you keep what a lifetime knows — and hand it to the next person, while it still can be given?"
One Sensibility · Many FormsMemoir, songs, a screenplay, the letters that matter most — eleven years of a private practice of letters to myself. I write to remember, to honor, and to make sense of a heritage worth keeping. The page is where I am most myself.
Food is memory you can taste. My kitchen is where culinary heritage becomes something you can set on a table and pass down — cooked from feel, never a recipe. The same instinct as writing, made edible.
I design the way I write: color, comfort, clean, creativity. A house should listen to what a room already is and answer it — heirloom beside the modern. A place that lets you exhale.
The eye that decides what stays — in a room, on a plate, in a life. Across a family of houses, I choose what belongs and what does not, so a whole world feels of a piece. Editing as its own form of authorship.
As an operator, a fractional executive, a producer, a storyteller for brands — I created frameworks for how a business can run cleaner and treat its people better, and I have carried more than one company through to a new chapter.
It has never felt separate from the rest. A company is just another thing that has to be seen clearly before it can be made to work. A paragraph, a plate, a room, a brand — the craft is the same.
Where essence, authenticity, and alignment meet effortless expression.
The writing, the cooking, the designing, the curating, the building — one life, paid close attention to, and shaped with care.
If you’d like to work together — on a brand, a space, a business, or a story worth telling — I would love to talk.
Let’s talk
Be humble and kind,
